Rania Mohsan – An Aspiring Actress Visited Lahore Film School to Give Acting Audition

Rania Mohsin

In a city full of dreamers, artists and young performers, some individuals stand out because of their passion, dedication and resilience. Rania Mohsan is one of those rare, aspiring actresses who refuses to give up, even after years of struggle. She recently visited Lahore Film School for an acting audition, and her story is one that every young actor in Pakistan needs to hear.

Rania is not just another hopeful artist; she is a professionally trained performer with a 4-year degree from a reputable university, and more importantly, she has been working in the performing arts industry for more than seven years. Her journey is a mix of struggle, hard work, theatre experience and an unshakable belief in herself — qualities that truly define a future star.

This article highlights her story, our conversation with her, her audition at Lahore Film School, and how institutions like ours are working to empower new actors, aspiring performers, and emerging filmmakers through training, digital content and vertical web-series platforms inspired by modern global trends.

A 7-Year Journey of Dedication

When Rania walked into the Lahore Film School for her acting audition, the first thing that became clear was her energy. She came into the studio with confidence, carried herself like a true performer, and spoke with the humility of someone who has been shaped by real struggle.

During our conversation, she shared:

  • She has been working in the field of acting for seven years
  • She has performed in some of the most respected theatre groups in Pakistan, including:
    Ajoka Theatre
    The Colony, Lahore
    Alhamra Arts Council

This is a serious resume — and it explains why her stage presence was extraordinary during the audition.

Despite her experience, she revealed the harsh truth of the Pakistani acting landscape:
There are many talented actors but very few real opportunities.

TV channels mostly work with fixed faces, big productions rely on already-known actors, and there are very limited platforms for new, emerging talent.

Yet, Rania’s passion remains strong.

Our Discussion: The Vision for an Acting Academy in Pakistan

Before the audition began, we had a deep, meaningful conversation. She asked about Lahore Film School, my own background, and why I started training actors.

I shared with her something very personal — something many people do not understand:

My mission is to build a real acting academy in Pakistan.
A place where aspiring actors get trained, mentored, and launched into real projects, just like in Korea, USA, and Turkey.

But I also told her the truth:

  • There is no support from the government
  • No directors or producers in Lahore want to invest in a proper acting school
  • There is no industry-level funding for acting academies
  • Most people in entertainment want shortcuts, not a long-term training system
  • And this makes the dream extremely difficult

Yet, I have one thing I never lose — the belief that Pakistan needs a proper, international-standard acting academy.

So I explained to her:

“Even if no one supports us, I will continue building online acting courses, training modules, web-series and digital content that can help new actors shine.”

Rania listened carefully and responded with something that touched me:

“Pakistan needs people like you. We actors need platforms. We just need someone who can see our talent.”

This conversation reminded me why Lahore Film School exists.

The Acting Audition – A Powerful Monologue Performance

After our discussion, Rania prepared for the audition.
She selected a dramatic monologue, took a deep breath, and began performing.

The transformation was instant.

As soon as she said her first line, she wasn’t “Rania” anymore — she had become the character.

Her expressions were sharp, her eyes carried emotion, her pauses showed maturity, and the way she delivered the monologue clearly reflected her theatre background.

Everyone in the room was silent, focused, watching.

When she finished, there was no doubt:

She delivered one of the best monologue auditions we have recently seen at Lahore Film School.

Her training at Ajoka, The Colony and Alhamra was visible in every movement of her body.
This is the type of talent Pakistan should be promoting.

The Future: Vertical Web-Series & App-Based Dramas — A New Era for New Actors

We explained to Rania that we are already working on something big:

Vertical Web-Series (9:16 Format)

Just like Korean short dramas, American TikTok storytelling formats, and modern web-series trends, Lahore Film School is building:

  • Short vertical dramas
  • Thriller mini-series
  • Romantic micro-stories
  • Acting-based challenge series
  • Dialogue-driven performance clips
  • Educational acting content

These vertical dramas will be shot specifically for mobile audiences — the largest entertainment audience in Pakistan.

And the best part?

These projects will feature NEW ACTORS — not established celebrities.

This means aspiring actors like Rania will finally get a stage.

Why Vertical Web-Series Are the Future

Global trends show:

  • Young viewers prefer 1–4 minute vertical episodes
  • Actors become famous on TikTok, Shorts & Reels
  • New platforms allow fresh talent to rise instantly
  • Filmmakers don’t need big budgets
  • Stories feel more personal and emotional

Pakistan is still behind in this field — and this is our chance to lead.

For aspiring actors searching:

  • “acting audition in Lahore”
  • “how to become an actor in Pakistan”
  • “audition for webseries Lahore”
  • “opportunities for new actors”

Lahore Film School will become their first choice.
