Production Process and Story Making of TV Drama Serial Gardish
For decades, Pakistan’s drama industry has been known for its creativity, emotional storytelling, and powerful performances. Yet, one fact remains undeniable: almost 95% of dramas are produced in Karachi. From production houses to television channels and even actors, the hub of drama-making has been centered around one city.
But what about Lahore? A city with rich cultural heritage, vibrant performing arts, and countless passionate artists? Unfortunately, Lahore rarely gets the same recognition when it comes to mainstream dramas.
I wanted to give new talent—my hardworking students—a platform to shine, to step onto the national stage, and to be recognized as actors who can inspire millions.
And today, with the launch of our drama “Gardish” on SAB TV, that dream finally became a reality.

Lahore vs. Karachi – A Tale of Two Industries
Whenever someone talks about the Pakistani drama industry, the first thought that comes to mind is Karachi. Big channels, top directors, star actors—all based in Karachi. Naturally, anyone who wants to build a career in acting often feels they must move there.
For us in Lahore, this was a challenge. The resources, recognition, and opportunities were limited. Even if talent was available, the platforms were missing. Many young actors from Lahore often gave up their dreams because they felt there was no space for them in the drama industry.
But I always believed: “Where there is passion, there is a way.”
We wanted to break the stereotype that good dramas can only be made in Karachi. And so, we started working on something that would later become Gardish.
Birth of Gardish – A Dream Turns into Reality
The idea of Gardish was born out of determination. We knew it would not be easy. From funding challenges to convincing channels, from finding the right team to balancing training with real production—it was a long and tough journey.
Thankfully, we found incredible partners who shared the vision.
- Producer: Mujtaba Ahmed – A man with belief in fresh talent.
- Directors: Hammad Raza– The creative duo who shaped the story and execution with dedication.
Together, they became the backbone of Gardish. Their belief in this project motivated us to push beyond our limits.
Meet the Cast – A Blend of Experience and New Faces
A drama is nothing without its actors. In Gardish, we were proud to present a cast that was both talented and diverse.
- Abbas Ashraf – A rising star with charisma and depth.
- Areez Khan – His strong screen presence made every scene memorable.
- Khalid Butt, Arbaz Khan,
- Abdul Majid – Powerful acting, emotional range, and true dedication.
And then came the proudest part for me as an acting teacher: the students of Lahore Film School.
For years, I have trained young dreamers who wanted to see themselves on screen. Gardish became the platform where their dreams came alive. Watching them perform on national television was not just their achievement—it was a moment of victory for every student who has ever dared to dream.
Behind the Scenes – The Untold Story
Every drama has two stories. One is the story you see on screen. The other is the story behind the camera.
On the set of Gardish, we experienced both laughter and hard work. There were sleepless nights, technical challenges, and endless rehearsals. But there were also beautiful memories—students helping each other with dialogues, directors guiding with patience, and moments where we all felt like one family.
We even captured some exclusive BTS (Behind the Scenes) moments, which show the real effort that goes into creating a drama. From makeup rooms filled with nervous excitement to the first “action” shouted by the director—every second was unforgettable.

Lahore Film School Students Shine in Gardish Drama on SAB TV
Finally, the day arrived. Our drama Gardish went on air on SAB TV.
The episode featured not only the main cast but also the debut scenes of my students. Sitting in front of the television, watching them perform, was a feeling I cannot describe in words.
I saw the sparkle in their eyes. Their families cheered. Messages of congratulations poured in. For me, it was a moment of pride—proof that Lahore’s talent is no less than any other.
Audience Reactions
The feedback was heartwarming. Viewers appreciated the fresh faces and the raw energy that the students brought to the screen. On social media, many fans praised the storyline, the direction, and the courage of showcasing Lahore’s talent on a national platform.
One fan wrote: “It feels refreshing to see new faces and genuine acting. Gardish has the potential to become one of the best dramas this season.”
The Vision Ahead
Gardish is not just a drama. It is the beginning of a bigger movement. Our vision is clear:
- To make Lahore a hub of drama production once again.
- To create opportunities for passionate actors who cannot afford to shift to Karachi.
- To train and launch new talent that will carry the torch of Pakistan’s drama industry into the future.
At Lahore Film School, we will continue to provide acting courses, workshops, and real opportunities. Because we believe every student deserves a stage, and every dream deserves a chance.
Conclusion – Gardish is Just the Beginning
The journey of Gardish taught us that when you combine passion with perseverance, the impossible becomes possible.
From a dream in Lahore to being broadcast nationwide, this drama is living proof that talent knows no boundaries.
I am deeply grateful to Producer Mujtaba Ahmed, Director Hammad Raza the cast, my hardworking students, and everyone who supported this dream.
Yes, most dramas are still produced in Karachi. But with Gardish, Lahore has shown its strength. And this is just the beginning.
As I always tell my students:
“Dream big, work hard, and one day the world will watch your story.”
